MakeMyTrip acquires travel startup website Mygola.com
1. Online travel services provider MakeMyTrip.com has acquired Mygola, a startup travel guide firm.
2. The acquisition was done through MakeMyTrip’s Innovation Fund, which invests in early-stage or start-up companies in the travel technology space.
3. With this acquisition, MakeMyTrip will get a greater foothold in the mobile space as Mygola’s entire team has joined them.
4. Mygola was founded by IIT Mumbai batchmates Anshuman Bapna and Prateek Sharma in 2009.
Pakistan confers highest civilian award to Chinese President Xi Jinping
1. Pakistan conferred its top civilian award ‘Nishan-e-Pakistan’ on Chinese President Xi Jinping for his outstanding contribution in promotion of relationship between the two countries.
2. The awards-giving ceremony was organised at the President House where President Mamnoon Hussain conferred the award on 61-year-old Xi.

India to hand over three Cheetal copters to Kabul
1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to hand over three indigenously-built Cheetal multi-role helicopters during the visit of Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani to India at the end of this month, diplomatic sources confirmed.
2. Cheetals are the upgraded variants of Cheetah light utility, multi-role helicopters built by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited.
3. They can be used for personnel transport, casualty evacuation, reconnaissance and aerial survey, logistic support and rescue and can operate in high-altitude areas, a critical requirement for Afghanistan’s mountainous regions.

BHEL Commissions 250 MW Power Plant in Gujarat
1. State-owned power equipment maker Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has commissioned a 250 MW coal-based thermal power plant in Jamnagar in Gujarat for the state’s electricity corporation.

World Earth Day’ celebration today
1. Earth Day is an annual event, celebrated on April 22, on which day events worldwide are held to demonstrate support for environmental protection.
2. It was first celebrated in 1970 & it is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network and celebrated in more than 192 countries each year.

Sistema Shyam to launch Wi-Fi services at railway stations like Ahmedabad, Agra, Mumbai CST
1. Service provider Sistema Shyam will launch Wi-Fi services at railway stations of Ahmedabad, Agra, & Mumbai CST
2. Howrah and Secunderabad will soon have access to Wi-Fi services
3. It will allow Passengers to surf the Internet, check e-mail and use mobile apps.
4. It will offer Wi-Fi services free for 30 minutes to gauge the response at these stations, which have some of the heaviest commuter traffic.
5. The service will eventually be rolled out commercially under the MTS brand.
6. Travellers at any of these stations will be able to access the Internet on their smartphones, laptops or notebooks.

World Bank Program to Focus on Air Quality in India 
1. PMEH (Pollution Management and Environmental Health), A new World Bank administered program with an initial total allocation of around $45 million, will focus on air quality management in five major urban areas in India, China, Egypt, Nigeria and South Africa.
2. It could contribute to improved environmental health conditions for an estimated 150 million people in those cities over the next five years.
