Each section will consist of 40 questions, therefore making it total 200 marks. The test would be of 2 hours duration.
The candidates shall be required to qualify in each section as per the cut-off marks to be decided by the IBPS.
Marks obtained in the Mains exam will only be considered for short listing the candidates for the final interview.

Make a revision strategy and time to be allotted to each section during the exam. Plan this chart according to your ability and strength as per the section.
Do not waste too much time on one question, even if you are sure you will be able to solve it. It will hamper your overall score. Revise all the formulas and short-cut tricks for Quantitative Ability. Avoid to learn any new topic now as it might confuse you more during the exam.
Keep giving Mock-tests everyday. It not only encourages the over-all speed but also fills you up with much-required confidence. Also, allot at-least 15-20 minutes daily on reading newspapers, as it will improve your command over the language.
Try to avoid engaging yourself in time-consuming topics like Puzzles, Profit and Loss, Comprehensions. Rather, first attempt questions which require less time like, Sentence Improvement, Para jumbles, Error Spotting, Syllogism, Inequality, Simplification, Data Interpretation, Number Series etc. Once you think, you have scored enough to clear sectional cut-offs, move to other time-consuming topics.
English is said to be the easiest and least time-consuming section. It is advised to begin your exam with this section. Try to give between 20-22 minutes to these section.
Computer Knowledge section is also said to be an easy section. A basic knowledge of computers can help you score well in this section. General Awareness comprises questions from current affairs, banking awareness and static General Knowledge. Not much time should be given to Computer and General Awareness sections. Do not spend more than 15 minutes to solve each of the sections. You may choose to go for Computer Knowledge and General Awareness as your third section. You can switch for either Quantitative or Reasoning as your last topic as they both are time-consuming.
We wish good luck to all the candidates who are appearing for the Clerk 2016 Mains Exam!
