Neeraj Kumar appointed chief adviser to BCCI’s ACSU
1. Former Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar was appointed as chief adviser of the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Anti-Corruption & Security Unit (ACSU).
2. Decision in this regard was taken at the Governing Council Meeting of the Indian Premier League (IPL) chaired by IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla in New Delhi.

ICICI and UAE bank Emirates NBD ties up for Instant Money Transfer
1. ICICI bank has tied up with a leading UAE-based bank to offer an instant remitting service to Indians residing in the Gulf nation.
2. The tie up with Emirates NBD enables customers to transfer funds to account holders of ICICI bank in India within a minute through the Direct Remit service.
3. Customers can avail themselves of this service through internet banking, mobile banking and ATMs of Emirates NBD
4. “Direct Remit facilitates the convenience of sending money to any beneficiary in India within a minute.

Indian Railways launches E-Samiksha to monitor rail projects online
1. Railways has Launched E – Samiksha with the aim of E- Samiksha Monitoring implementation of various ongoing projects including Rail Budget proposal.
2. Now each and every project implementation can be monitored on real-time basis, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu said here after launching the system.
3. It was designed by NIC, the software is currently being used by Cabinet Secretariat, PMO and other Ministries for monitoring progress implementation of various programmes and follow-up of meetings.

Kerala government launches Subodham project to end liquor, drug abuse
1. Kerala government has launched Subodham, a major campaign in a bid to wean people away from addiction to liquor, drug and other substance abuse.
2. It was launched by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy and Art of Living Foundation founder Sri Sri Ravishankar.
3. Subodham project aims to free one lakh people in the state each year from alcohol addiction, through systematic, comprehensive awareness campaigns.

Former Odisha Chief Minister J.B Patnaik passes away
1. Former Governor of Assam and three-time Chief Minister of Odisha Janaki Ballav Patnaik passed away in a private hospital at Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh.
2. He was born in Puri district on January 3, 1927.
3. He was Chief Minister of Odisha from 1980 to 1989 and again from 1995 to 1999.

Sugarcane Fair Prices hikes to Rs 230 per Quintal for 2015-16
1. The government has revised the Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) of sugarcane for the sugar season 2015-16 to Rs 230 per quintal from Rs 220 per quintal.
2. This decision has been taken on the basis of recommendations of Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP) and after consultations with concerned state governments and other stake holders.

Increase of Seats in Legislative Assemblies in AP and Telangana
1. As per Section 26 of the Andhra Pradesh Re-organisation Act, 2014 the number of seats in the Legislative Assembly of the successor States of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana is likely to be increased
2. Seat will be increased from 175 and 119 to 225 and 153, respectively, According to the provision contained in Article 170 of the Constitution.

Bhartiya Mahila Bank inks MOUs with LIC & New India Insurance Corporation
1. Bharatiya Mahila Bank Ltd has entered into MoUs with New India Assurance Company Ltd and Life Insurance Corporation of India to provide insurance cover to its account holders.
2. The insurance covers are being provided under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Suraksha Bima Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan jyoti Bima Yojana schemes respectively.
3. The insurance option is voluntary and comes at a premium of Rs. 12 for the PM Jan Suraksha Bima Yojana and Rs. 330 for the PM Jeevan jyoti Bima Yojana.
4. The age eligibility under the former is 18-70 years and under the latter 18-50 years.
5. The enrolment period under the schemes will be from June 1, 2015, to August 31, 2015.
