Maharashtra government to appoint ‘swachhata doots’ in every village
1. Maharashtra government has decided to appoint ‘swacchata doots’ or cleanliness ambassadors in every village to help achieve the target of building 56 lakh toilets across the state over the next five years.
2. Half of them will be women and each cleanliness ambassador will be given an annual remuneration of Rs 22,000.
3. The Centre will allocate Rs 9,000, while the state government would provide Rs 3,000 per toilet

Union Cabinet approves lowering of age of Juveniles from 18 to 16 years for heinous crimes
1. Union Cabinet has approved lowering of age of juveniles from eighteen to sixteen years for heinous crimes.
2. The cabinet also approved to introduce Amendment to the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Bill, 2014.
3. This amendment will propose and add special provisions to tackle heinous offences like murder and rape committed by juveniles in the age group of 16-18 years.

Zomato acquires NexTable
1. Online restaurant guide Zomato has acquired United States (US) based online table reservation platform NexTable for undisclosed amount.
2. NexTable services help its users make restaurant reservations in real time and it also includes table management and marketing tools for restaurants.
3. NexTable was founded by TC DeSilva and currently he is CEO of the company.



Gujarat IPS officer A K Sharma appointed as Joint Director of CBI
1. Gujarat cadre IPS officer of 1987 batch Arun Kumar Sharma, has been appointed as Joint Director, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), New Delhi
2. He is appointed for a period of five years.
5. Sharma is currently heading Ahmedabad Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) as special commissioner a post created for the first time.

Now people can Book unreserved train tickets with ‘Utsonmobile’ App
1. The Railway Ministry has launched ‘utsonmobile’, a mobile application for paperless unreserved tickets. 
2. The application service was launched by Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu in New Delhi. This application will allow its passenger to buy a ticket on the move and to board the train with the ticket secured on his mobile phone in digital format, without any need for printing the ticket.
3. It was developed by Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS)
4. Aims to eliminate the need for printing of unreserved tickets.
5. The app can be downloaded from Google Play Store or Windows Store and used by the user.
6. Payment for the ticket is done through the “railway wallet” feature in the app.
7. After booking the ticket, the passenger will get ticket confirmation screen, which will contain limited information about the ticket, officials said.
8. The passenger has to use the ticket within an hour of booking the ticket as per the policy of suburban sections.
9. Also, the ticket will have distinct colour scheme everyday and it cannot be forwarded to another mobile

India ranks second in cyber attacks through social media
1. Cyber criminals are now using social networking sites to target users in India.
2. According to a report from Symantec, a security solutions provider, India ranked second among nations that were most targeted for cyber crimes through the social media in 2014

1. Bangladesh whitewashed Pakistan in a one-day international series for the first time after winning the third match by an emphatic eight wickets
2. Bangladesh went into the match having already achieved a first ODI series win against Pakistan, and made more history.

ADB to fund $1 billion for Vizag-Chennai industrial corridor project
1. Andhra Pradesh cabinet approved a $1 billion funding for the proposed Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC) project from the loan assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
2.The project funding proposed initially was $400 million.
3. The government has proposed to build a number of industrial parks, townships, roads and other physical infrastructure along the existing highway between the two port cities in a bid to develop industrial hubs along this route
