Physicist Stephen Hawking to Trademark his name
1. World-renowned British physicist Stephen Hawking is set to trademark his name, joining the ranks of celebrities such as JK Rowling and David Beckham who have turned their names into brands.
2. Hawking, 73, has applied to the Intellectual Property Office to have his name formally registered, while another English physicist, Brian Cox, has already made the move.
3. Hawking has also applied to trademark his name for charitable purposes, giving him the option of setting up a foundation, such as to promote physics, or for research into motor neurone disease, which has paralysed him.
4. His trademark would cover computer games, powered wheelchairs, greetings cards and healthcare.

Azhar Ali Set to Lead Pakistan ODI Team
1. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is set to appoint batsman Azhar Ali as the new captain of the one-day team and wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed as his deputy.
2. Pakistan scheduled to tour Bangladesh for a Test and one-day series from mid-April.

Rajasthan Assembly Passes Camel Bill to Stop Slaughter and restrict Migration
1. Rajasthan Legislative Assembly has passed by a voice vote The Rajasthan Camel (Prohibition of Slaughter and Regulation of Temporary Migration or Export) Bill, 2015.
2. The Bill aims to contain the steady decline in the population of camels in the state.
3. According to the Bill’s provisions, offenders will be punishable with rigorous imprisonment of at least a year.
4. This term may extend to five years with a fine of up to Rs 20,000.
5. According to the livestock census of 1992, there were around 750,000 camels in the country. This number fell to only 330,000 in 2012, indicating a decrease of more than 56 per cent.
6. A majority of these camels are found in Rajasthan.
7. Last year, Rajasthan declared the camel as a state animal, in addition to the chinkara.
8. The Bill also proposes to place restrictions on migration of the animal to other states.

1. Actress Katrina Kaif has became the latest Indian to be featured at the Madame Tussauds museum.
2. The actress unveiled her 150,000-pound life-size wax statue.
3. Kaif has become the 7th  Bollywood actor to be honoured with a figure at Madame Tussauds London and joins the league of actors like

4. Katrina’s figure was created by a team of 20 sculptors and artists over a four-month period, using hundreds of precise measurements taken at a sitting in Mumbai and cost 150,000 pounds (USD 223,117) to create.
5. Madame Tussauds Studios London has been making wax figures for over 150 years with each masterpiece taking up to four months and a team of 20 dedicated sculptors to create.

Delhi Aditi Arya Crowned Femina Miss India World 2015
1. Delhi girl Aditi Arya was crowned  Femina Miss India World 2015.
2. Afreen Racheal Vaz was adjudged first runner-up while Vartika Singh second runner up at the grand finale of 52nd year of fbb Femina Miss India.
3. Aditi will represent the country at Miss World pageant and the runners-up.

BJP Becomes Largest political Party in World
1. The ruling BJP has become the largest political party in the world with its enrolment drive in the past five months taking its membership to 8.80 crore.
2. The Communist Party of China was until now considered the largest party with about 8.60 crore members.
3. The party’s ambitious, hi-tech online membership drive was launched by Modi on November 1 last year when he became a member by dialing a telephone number followed by Shah who became the second member.

Now book your railway ticket 120 days in advance from 1st April
1. As announced in the Railway Budget 2015, the Ministry of Railways has decided to increase the Advance Reservation Period (ARP) for booking accommodation from 60 (excluding the date of journey) to 120 days with effect from 1st April 2015.
2. However, for certain daytime Express trains to which lower time limits for advance reservation already enforced shall not be subjected to the new ARP change.
3. Similarly, the 360-day advance booking for foreign tourists shall also remain unchanged.

Ex Israeli PM Ehud Olmert, guilty of corruption and fraud
1. Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has been found guilty of fraud and breach of trust in a retrial on corruption charges.
2. Olmert was acquitted in 2012 of charges he accepted cash-stuffed envelopes from an American supporter.
3. But Olmert’s longtime confidant later became a state’s witness, offering tape recordings of conversations with Olmert about receiving the cash, leading to a retrial.

1. Australia has responded to the Germanwings air disaster but mandating that at least two people stay in cockpits of domestic and international airliners.
2. Previously Australia has allowed a pilot to be alone on the flight deck.

Katsushi Inoue to be New President And CEO of Honda India
1. Japanese auto major Honda today announced top management changes in its Indian cars business, with Katsushi Inoue slated to be president and CEO from April as the incumbent Hironori Kanayama is due to retire and return to Japan.
2. Inoue will take over from Kanayama who has served as HCIL president & CEO for the past three years since assuming this position in April 2012.
3. Inoue has been associated with Honda Motor Co for over 29 years and has served as general manager in marketing planning office in Japan headquarters in his last assignment.
4. He has worked with Honda ventures in different markets, across the globe, including Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, the UK, Poland and Germany.

Freedom fighter Madan Mohan Malviya gets Bharat Ratna posthumously
1. Noted educationist and freedom fighter Madan Mohan Malviya was on Monday posthumously conferred the Bharat Ratna, country’s highest civilian award, by President Pranab Mukherjee.
2. Malviya, an educationist with a vision, was behind the establishment of the Banaras Hindu University.
3. Born on December 25, 1861, Malviya was catapulted into the political arena immediately after his first moving speech at the second Congress session held in Kolkata in 1886.
4. Malviya is also remembered for his stellar role in the Independence movement and his espousal of Hindu nationalism.
5. He was one of the initial leaders of the right-wing Hindu Mahasabha.
